To understand the importance of import/export. To understand how international organizations, affect export/import practice. To understand process of an export order and negotiation of documents. To understand term of shipment, pricing and packaging. To understand process of customs clearance of export/import cargo. To recognize the basic documents involved importing/exporting. To understand term of payment in international trade practice. To understand insurance practices and procedures To understand import and export policies and various export promotion measures adopted by the Government
This course will focus on the principles, practices, and regulations of export and import policy. The laws and regulations governing the shipment of goods (custom procedures) will be reviewed. Effective management and organization of an export-import business will be explored. This course will also cover procedures and practices of export-import financing, letters of credit, packing, sales promotion, transportation, insurance and document preparation. Problems related to export and import administration and government assistance.
